{"id":6632,"date":"2022-12-05T15:35:48","date_gmt":"2022-12-05T15:35:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=6632"},"modified":"2022-12-05T15:35:51","modified_gmt":"2022-12-05T15:35:51","slug":"2023-university-college-london-bartlett-promise-scholarship-for-african-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/2023-university-college-london-bartlett-promise-scholarship-for-african-students\/","title":{"rendered":"2023 University College London Bartlett Promise Scholarship for African Students"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>University College London Bartlett Promise Scholarship for African Students is open to applicants who are nationals and residents of a Bartlett-approved list of Sub-Saharan African countries who have admission to a Bartlett master\u2019s program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bartlett Promise aims to enable students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in The Bartlett, to pursue studies at The Bartlett, UCL\u2019s Faculty of the Built Environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scholarship Summary<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Host Country: United Kingdom (UK)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Study Abroad:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipregion.com\/category\/scholarships\/study-abroad\/uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Study in UK<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Category:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipregion.com\/category\/scholarships\/postgraduate-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Postgraduate Scholarships<\/a>&nbsp;|&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scholarshipregion.com\/category\/scholarships\/postgraduate-scholarships\/masters-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Masters Scholarships<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eligible Countries: African Countries&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reward: Full Scholarship | \u00a316,008 Annual Allowance | Airfare Ticket&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligible Countries<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Prospective students who are nationals of Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Republic of Congo, Cote D\u2019Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scholarship Requirements:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be a national of one of The Bartlett\u2019s approved list&nbsp;2&nbsp;of Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries&nbsp;and resident in an eligible SSA country<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>must not hold a British or dual British citizenship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have an offer of admission to a Bartlett master\u2019s programme for study in 2023\/24 which is either&nbsp;<strong>unconditional<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>conditional only on English language<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be in financial need as assessed by UCL&nbsp;3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scholarship Duration and Reward<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full overseas tuition fees and an annual allowance of \u00a316,008 to cover living and study expenses for the normal duration of the program at UCL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In addition: a flight to and from the UK; UK study visa costs; English language assessment costs; health test costs; and the NHS Immigration Health Supplement charge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>100 Bartlett Master\u2019s application fee waivers worth \u00a390 each are available on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All Promise scholars will also receive on-going academic and career support during their study.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selection Criteria<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We will consider your educational, personal and financial circumstances. Those who are considering applying for the scholarship for 2023\/24 are advised to review\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/bartlett\/study\/postgraduate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Bartlett master\u2019s programmes by department<\/a>\u00a0and identify the programme that they would be interested in studying.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method of Application<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications to Bartlett master\u2019s programmes open on&nbsp;<strong>17 October&nbsp;2022<\/strong>. We strongly advise you to apply early. To apply for the scholarship, you must have received an offer of admission to a Bartlett master\u2019s programme by&nbsp;<strong>31 March&nbsp;2023<\/strong>. UCL aims to make a decision on applications within 6 weeks of receiving your completed application, academic transcripts and both references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, please note it can take 3-4 months when application volumes are high.
