View a detailed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships#JJ_Scholarship_Benefits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>list of benefits<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>To be considered for the scholarship;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must be citizens of a World Bank member developing country and should not hold a dual citizenship of a developed country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must hold a bachelor\u2019s degree or its equivalent obtained at least 3 years prior to the application deadline date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must possess 3 years or more recent development-related experience after obtaining a Bachelor\u2019s degree or its equivalent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be in good health<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants must have been offered an unconditional admission to enrol in the upcoming academic year in at least one of the JJ\/WBGSP Preferred or Partner Master\u2019s Degree Programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Duration and Reward<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP scholarship provides the recipient with the following benefits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Economy class air travel between your home country and the host university at the start of your study program and immediately following the end of the scholarship period. In addition to the two-way air travel, scholars will receive a US $500 travel allowance for each trip;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tuition for your graduate program and the cost of basic medical insurance obtained through the university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While on campus during the scholarship period, a monthly subsistence allowance to cover all living expenses (accommodations, food, etc., including books). The amount of the allowance varies depending on the host country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note all JJ\/WBGSP scholarships cover the duration of the graduate program or two years, whichever is less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP scholarship does not cover:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>VISA application(s) costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expenses to bring and\/or support a scholar\u2019s family members;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extra-curricular courses or training;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Courses that do not meet the minimum credits required to earn the graduate degree;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Language training not provided by the graduate program;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional travel during the course of the study program;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expenses related to research, supplementary educational materials, field trips, participation in workshops\/seminars, or internships; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Educational equipment such as computers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resident permit fee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Seelction Process<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP uses the following process to review eligible scholarship applications from developing country nationals, with the aim of identifying the candidates with the highest potential, after completion of their graduate studies, to impact the development of their countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two qualified assessors independently review each eligible application and score the application on a scale of 1 to 10, taking into account four main factors and the degree of cohesion among them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Quality of Professional Experience (30% weight)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality of Professional Recommendations (30% weight)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality of Commitment to your Home Country (30% weight)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality of Education Background (10% weight)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The JJ\/WBGSP Secretariat uses the average score of the two assessors and the following criteria to select the finalists:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintaining a reasonably wide geographical distribution of awards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining a reasonable distribution of awards across gender<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unusual circumstances\/hardships, when assessing the employment experience and other aspects of an application;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Giving scholarships to those applicants who, other things being equal, have limited access to financial resources for graduate studies abroad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method of Application<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/en\/programs\/scholarships#3\">CLICK HERE TO APPLY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deadline: May 26, 2023<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Joint Japan\/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program\u00a0(JJ\/WBGSP) is open to citizens of certain\u00a0developing countries\u00a0with relevant professional experience and a history<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":5575,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"colormag_page_container_layout":"default_layout","colormag_page_sidebar_layout":"default_layout","footnotes":""},"categories":[47],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-7634","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-scholarship"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
