{"id":778,"date":"2022-02-22T09:31:41","date_gmt":"2022-02-22T09:31:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=778"},"modified":"2022-02-22T09:33:31","modified_gmt":"2022-02-22T09:33:31","slug":"asuu-strike-the-federal-government-and-asuu-meets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/asuu-strike-the-federal-government-and-asuu-meets\/","title":{"rendered":"ASUU STRIKE- The Federal Government and ASUU Set to Meet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">The Federal Government and the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, are set to meet today on Tuesday 22, 2022 to find a civil solution to the contented issue that has made the University teachers down tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recall that ASUU had declared a one-month warning strike starting from Monday, February 14 to press home their demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both the Federal government and ASUU have been Exchanging blames since the later declared industrial action each of them has accused the other of deceitfulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister of Labor and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, who is the Conciliator-in-Chief of the Federal Government has however scheduled to meet with the leadership of ASUU today in his office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This information was revealed by Mr. Charles Akpan, Deputy Director\/Head Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Labor and Employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The letter read: <em>\u201cThe Honorable Minister for Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige will be meeting with the Executive of Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU and relevant Government Agencies.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting is scheduled as follows: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Date: <\/strong>Tuesday, 22nd&nbsp;&nbsp; February 2022.
