{"id":7878,"date":"2023-01-25T14:56:35","date_gmt":"2023-01-25T14:56:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=7878"},"modified":"2023-01-25T14:56:39","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T14:56:39","slug":"jamb-releases-fresh-updates-on-2023-utme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/jamb-releases-fresh-updates-on-2023-utme\/","title":{"rendered":"JAMB releases fresh updates on 2023 UTME"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has registered <em><strong>92,490<\/strong><\/em> candidates for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This information was disclosed board\u2019s weekly bulletin in Abuja on Monday, January 23, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to JAMB about <strong><em>67,328<\/em><\/strong> candidates had registered to sit its mock examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recall that JAMB commenced registration for the 2023 UTME on January 14, to end on February 14 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Giving a breakdown of its registration fees, JAMB said two e-pins were available for purchase, as candidates could either register to sit for its mock UTME or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bulletin reads in parts, <em>\u201cAs already effected in the UTME exercise, two e-pins are available, <strong>N5,700<\/strong> for without mock UTME; N6,700 for with mock UTME, while the Direct Entry is <strong>N4,700<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cApproved UTME fee remains <strong>N3, 500<\/strong>, reading text <strong>N500<\/strong>, the registration fee is <strong>N700<\/strong>, with <strong>N1000<\/strong> for Computer Based Test (CBT) examination fee and an optional <strong>N1000<\/strong> for mock examination for the candidates\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The board says it remits to the CBT centres weekly what is due to them, adding that the measure is put in place to stop the extortion of candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It added that as part of measures put in place to enhance the sanctity of the examination process, examinations would be allowed to take place an hour after the scheduled commencement time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It promised to reschedule any exam session affected by technical challenges from the board and communicate the date for the rescheduled session to the affected candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cCandidates will be notified of their new schedule centres before they leave the examination centre.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cFurthermore, no candidate will be allowed to spend less than one hour before submission during the examination.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cLate commencement or early departure from the examination hall can jeopardise the conduct of the examination by giving some candidates undue advantage over their contemporaries taking the examination,\u201d<\/em> it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The board has scheduled Direct Entry (DE) registration to commence from February 20 to April 20, while the optional mock- UTME will hold on March 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The board is also scheduled to conduct the 2023 UTME on April 29 and end on May 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: intelregion<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has registered 92,490 candidates for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
