The mentorship is a one-year appointment and comprises the following components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mentorship from one ETH professor, senior scientist or postdoc over a period of one year of the mentee\u2019s doctoral studies. We suggest monthly meetings and clearly defined goals of the project, e.g., presentation at a conference, joint publication. ETH mentors are free to serve on the doctoral committee of the ETH4D mentee, but this is not a requirement.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research stay at the mentor\u2019s research group (ETH Zurich, Switzerland) for 1-3 months during the mentorship period.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Financial support for attending a conference and\/or research material<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>More information can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ethz.ch\/content\/dam\/ethz\/special-interest\/dual\/eth4d-dam\/documents\/Criteria_ETH4D%20Doctoral%20Mentorship%20Programme_2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DownloadETH4D Doctoral Mentorship Programme Criteria document (PDF, 184 KB)vertical_align_bottom<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">There are four application deadlines per year: 30 April, 30 June, 31 October and 31 December.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Next application deadline is 30 April 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grant and application information:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grant covers expenses up to a maximum of 15k CHF and includes the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Economy roundtrip ticket (max. 2 kCHF) to and from Switzerland for the research stay<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visa fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel allowance to attend an academic conference<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research material (e.g. lab equipment) (max 6 kCHF in total).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fees for health insurance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local transportation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accommodation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Living allowance for the duration of the research stay at ETH Zurich \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible are doctoral candidates who are registered at a university or research institute in a least-\u200b developed, low-\u200b and lower-\u200bmiddle-income country according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ethz.ch\/content\/dam\/ethz\/special-interest\/dual\/eth4d-dam\/documents\/DAC-List-of-ODA-Recipients-for-reporting-2022-23-flows.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DownloadOECD\/DAC 2022 list (PDF, 204 KB)vertical_align_bottom<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application needs to be submitted by the ETH professorship hosting the doctoral candidate.
