The Kwara State Government has announced a 50 percent transport support to\u00a0Kwara students schooling in various tertiary institutions across the country, to enable them travel home and partake in\u00a0the 2023 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The move comes after the National University Commission directed tertiary institutions in the country to suspend academic activities for a period of three weeks, to enable students and staff members whose voting areas are outside their school \/ work place, partake in the electioneering process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Announcing the transport relief, the Kwara state commissioner for tertiary education, Alabi Afees Abolore, in a statement issued by his press secretary, Mansurat Amuda-kannike, explained that the support will be monetized and transferred to the beneficiaries after verifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, the state\u00a0Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq\u00a0announced free bus palliative for students of Unilorin and Kwara State Polytechnic which began\u00a0on Monday, 13th February, 2014, between the hours of\u00a06a.m. and 10am and between 3pm and 6p.m. (Mondays to Fridays).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\u00a0free buses will ply\u00a0specific routes to be used by students and staffs of tertiary institutions in the capital city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
