{"id":843,"date":"2022-02-23T14:43:07","date_gmt":"2022-02-23T14:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/?p=843"},"modified":"2022-02-23T15:02:07","modified_gmt":"2022-02-23T15:02:07","slug":"global-masters-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/global-masters-scholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Masters Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In keeping to the tradition, &#8216;The Global Masters Scholarship&#8217; is giving an award of \u00a310,000 to provide support for applicants who want to study at the University of Birmingham in 2022\/23.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/presspay.ng\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/image-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-845\" width=\"401\" height=\"267\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>They are also proud to be launching the Global Masters Scholarship in order to attract and support the most academically talented international students from across the world to  Masters degrees during the 2022\/23 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approximately 40 scholarships will be awarded with a value of up to \u00a310,000 GBP. This award will be deducted from the total tuition fees owed by each successful scholar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All taught Masters programmes are eligible for this scholarship, with the exception of programmes in the Birmingham Business School, for which there are separate&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/schools\/business\/courses\/masters\/postgraduate-scholarships.aspx\">MSc<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/schools\/business\/mba\/fees-and-funding\/scholarships.aspx\">MBA&nbsp;<\/a>scholarships on offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to be eligible, candidates must meet the following requirements. Candidates must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Have received, and accepted, an offer of admission for a taught Masters degree at the University of Birmingham UK Campus to study in the 2022\/23 academic year.<\/li><li>Be classed as \u2018domiciled\u2019 in one of the eligible countries.<\/li><li>Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes.<\/li><li>Start their studies at the University in September\/ October 2022 on a course delivered on-campus.<\/li><li>Have paid the standard \u00a32,000 Admissions deposit by 30 June 2022.<\/li><li>Be academically exceptional and able to provide evidence for this in the scholarship application statement. Candidates should have, or be expecting to achieve, a first class overall grade (at least 70% in the UK system) in a bachelors degree or equivalent.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, a UK first class degree to be equivalent to the following grading systems in the US, India, Nigeria and China:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>3.5 out of 4.0 and above in the US GPA system.<\/li><li>70% in the Indian grading system<\/li><li>3.5 (out of 4.0) or 4.5 (out of 5.0) or 6.2 (out of 7.0) in the Nigerian grading system<\/li><li>85% grade awarded by a top tier Chinese University, 90% grade awarded by a mid-tier Chinese University<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students in receipt of a full scholarship or sponsorship covering&nbsp;full&nbsp;tuition fees from an alternative internal or external source are not eligible for this scholarship. Those with other partial awards may be able to conjoin this scholarship with other scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who is Eligible?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates from the following countries are eligible<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Algeria<\/li><li>Canada<\/li><li>China (PRC)<\/li><li>Egypt<\/li><li>Ghana<\/li><li>Hong Kong (SAR of PRC)<\/li><li>India<\/li><li>Indonesia<\/li><li>Kenya<\/li><li>Malawi<\/li><li>Mauritius<\/li><li>Morocco<\/li><li>Nigeria<\/li><li>Pakistan<\/li><li>Seychelles<\/li><li>Taiwan<\/li><li>Tanzania<\/li><li>Thailand<\/li><li>Tunisia<\/li><li>Uganda<\/li><li>United States of America<\/li><li>Zambia<\/li><li>Zimbabwe<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who is not Eligible?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If a candidate decide to defer their programme start date to September 2023, you will no longer be eligible for this scholarship as it is only available for programmes with a September 2022 start date.<\/li><li>Students applying for programmes in the Birmingham Business School are not eligible for this scholarship but are eligible for other&nbsp;separate&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/schools\/business\/courses\/masters\/postgraduate-scholarships.aspx\">MSc<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/schools\/business\/mba\/fees-and-funding\/scholarships.aspx\">MBA<\/a>&nbsp;scholarships offered by the Business School.<\/li><li>Students seeking to study on a course solely delivered as a \u2018distance learning\u2019 programme are not eligible for this scholarship.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please complete the form accurately and in full as any incomplete applications will not be considered and cannot be amended once submitted.
