Applicants identify how their study abroad programs or overseas projects, as well as their future academic and career goals, will contribute to U.S. national security, broadly defined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholarships and Fellowships focusing on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for Boren Awards for International Study Abroad, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must be a high school graduate, or have earned a GED<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning to study in a country of which they are not a citizen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boren Scholarships applicants must be matriculated in an associate\u2019s or bachelor\u2019s degree program located within the United States and accredited by a body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time of application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They must remain matriculated in an undergraduate degree program for the duration of the scholarship and may not graduate until the scholarship is complete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boren Scholars and Fellows study throughout the world, including Africa, Asia, Central &amp; Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Procedures<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How-to-Apply:&nbsp;<\/strong>To be considered for Boren Awards for International Study Abroad, applicants should please submit the application online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Boren Awards fund the intensive study of language and culture abroad by U.S. undergraduate or graduate students.
