2024 E4D Doctoral Scholarship in Switzerland (Engineering for Development) | Fully Funded
The goal of the E4D Doctoral Scholarship is to promote research and education for the benefit of underprivileged people in low-income countries.
The Engineering for Development (E4D) Doctoral Scholarship Programme grants a sum of 200’000 CHF to cover the entire study costs of the doctoral students for three years.
Requirements:
- Existing contact with an ETH professor in the field of your study (List of ETH Zurich Professors)
- HINT: How to contact a professor and get a fast response
- High English proficiency level is necessary
- Maximum age: 40 years
- Excellent MSc or MA degree with high academic performance is necessary
- ONLY contact an ETH professor with a concrete project idea.
- Experience in the selected research area is required.
- Preference will be given to citizens of low- and lower-middle-income countries
Benefits:
- The grant sum is 200,000 CHF ($228,283) to cover the salary costs of the doctoral students for three years.
- ETH professors cover the 4th year of the doctoral studies as well as costs related to the research itself.
Required Documents
- Completed Application Form 2024
- CV of the candidate
- Excellent MSc degree from a recognised university and grade transcripts
- Support letter of the supervising professor at ETH Zurich
- 2 reference letters from your field of research
- Relevant own publications or documentation of relevant activities relating to the project
- List of 5 independent reviewers (same field of research, but unknown to candidate and professor)
- Bibliography
