2024 Fatima Al-Fihri Open University (FAOU) Internship Program
FAOU’s Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for youth from all corners of the world to gain professional experience within an international team. Established in 2017, this remote program has hosted over 700 interns and 50 Ambassadors from 140 countries. Work flexibly from anywhere while studying or working on other commitments! Our internship program is free, ensuring accessibility for all passionate individuals. There are 8 positions available for the Spring Internship, including roles in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, Social Media, Partnership, and more.
Available positions and the duties of this program are as follows:
- HR OFFICER | Manage HR database at FAOU. Communicate with the internal team, respond to
queries, and assess team performance. Coordinate with other HR team members on
implementing instructions and rules. Assist in recruitment campaigns. Coordinate training for
other departments. - PARTNERSHIP OFFICER | Identify potential partners and formulate partnership proposals.
Maintain communication with potential partners and donors. Support partnership negotiations and meetings. - MARKETING OFFICER | Collaborate with University teams to collect and share relevant
information and data. Analyze collected data and prepare reports. Develop creative marketing
strategies to promote the university brand and courses. - COMMUNICATION OFFICER | Coordinate with the Partnership team in communication with
potential partners and donors. Maintain integration between the university’s council of directors and the Public Relations team. Assist the Marketing team in collecting and sharing information for analysis. Analyze the data collected and prepare reports. Research funding opportunities (grants) and write proposals. - SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER | Excellent writing skills in English and basic knowledge of Canva.
Create or edit visuals for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn).
Maintain a regular posting schedule. Generate creative ideas to engage the audience and
increase followers - PROGRAM ASSISTANT | Plan and organize events with strong organizational skills to ensure smooth workflow. Demonstrate creativity in event planning and execution. Ability to draft project plans and communicate ideas effectively. Basic graphic design skills (ex. Canva). Additional skills that are considered a plus (not eliminatory): social sciences background (with a focus on the MENA region) and knowledge of Arabic.
- IT OFFICER | Experience in troubleshooting for various applications and internet issues (in particular Microsoft-related issues). Provide IT support to all University teams.
- PEDAGOGICAL AFFAIRS OFFICER | Support in designing educational programs. Ability to analyze data and reports to help make data-driven suggestions for new course content. Able to draft pedagogical files (based on University Templates). Search for and communicate with new professors and teachers (under the supervision of managers). Facilitate and coordinate one of the Modules (courses) at the University. Provide administrative support.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Proficiency in both written and verbal English.
- Excellent knowledge of internet literacy and productivity tools such as MS Office.
- Consistent access to PC/Laptop and a reliable Internet connection (minimum every two days).
- Ability to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
