2025 University of Glasgow Graduate Scholarship in UK (Fully Funded)
The Adam Smith Business School is inviting applications from local international students for the 2025 University of Glasgow Graduate Scholarship in the UK.
The University of Glasgow Graduate Scholarship offers full tuition coverage and an amount of £19,795 to cover living and £4,925 for research expenses.
The Adam Smith Business School offers a prestigious combined MRes/PhD training scheme in Economics. It starts with the 2 years MRes programme.
Candidates who complete the MRes at a sufficiently high level will be given priority for admission into the 3-4 years PhD stage. Funding is annually renewable and includes small teaching obligation starting from year 2.
The University of Glasgow will fund up to six studentships covering tuition fees and a stipend for up to five years to enable students to receive comprehensive MRes (pre-PhD) training and to subsequently undertake supervised independent research in a chosen field of economics, leading to a PhD.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Hold an offer for the MRes Economics starting in September 2025.
- Meet the entry requirements for admission to the MRes program.
Benefits:
- tuition fees at the standard Home/EU or international rate
- an annual bursary equivalent to the RCUK rate – £19,795 for 2025/26 (estimate)
- during the 3 PhD years there will be a research support grant of £4,925 per annum

March 2025: First round of awards
Candidates who apply for the Economics MRes by Friday 1 March 2025 will be considered for the scholarship in the second half of March. Candidates will be informed of the outcome by email by Friday 29 March 2025. Those who are unsuccessful will not be considered again.
- May 2025: Second round of awards
Candidates who apply for the Economics MRes by Wednesday 1 May 2025 will be considered for the second round of the award for the remaining scholarships. Candidates will be informed of the outcome by email by Wednesday 29 May 2025.
