2024 Afrika Kommt Fellowship Program | Fully Funded
AFRIKA KOMMT through a one year fellowship, equips young professionals with the skills, exposure and inspiration they need to become the next generation of African leaders. The programme is structured in three different phases.
As a participant of AFRIKA KOMMT! you will:
- Refine your leadership and management competency
- Access networks & opportunities for career acceleration
- Improve your intercultural competence
- Broaden your perspective and stir up innovation
- Achieve personal growth
Eligibility Criteria:
- Citizenship of an African state
- University degree in a relevant subject
- Postgraduate studies (e.g. MBA) are an advantage
- Two to five years of relevant work experience
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Basic knowledge of German is an advantage
- Not older than 35 years
Benefits:
- Visa for Germany for one year
- Roundtrip airfare from your home town to Germany and back
- Monthly living allowance of €900,- (month 1-3, month 12)
- Monthly salary during the internship in the companies of approx. € 1.500,- gross
- One-off relocation fee of € 1.000,- for settling back into your home country
- Accommodation during all stages of the programme in Germany (including internet allowance, electricity, water and other charges)
- Health insurance during month 1-3 and month 12
- Accident and liability insurance
- You will receive two certificates: One official certificate upon successful completion of the programme with a detailed description of the specific contents and components of the training and a certificate by the Academy for International Cooperation of GIZ GmbH by successful completion of the professional training in the tool “International Competence Development Journal”.
How to Apply?
STEP 1: Check the general candidate requirements – do you fit the criteria and are you eligible for the programme?
STEP 2: Check the available fellowship placements and required profiles for the new intake of AFRIKA KOMMT! The fellowship placements will only be available during the application phase. Your application will be considered for the AFRIKA KOMMT! programme as a whole, however you are asked to select maximum 2 profiles in the application form and to give reasons for your choice.
STEP 3: Register and fill in the application form in English. Applications in other languages will not be considered.
In addition to filling the application form, you will be asked to upload a short presentation about your motivation, an idea for a change initiative, a photo and your certificates.
STEP 4: Submit your application before the deadline (tbc) – applications submitted after this date cannot be considered.
