The British Council Scotland Scholarships 2025 (SGSAH EARTH)
The British Council Scotland Scholarship is a program run with funding from the British Council to enable international research collaborations between Scottish Higher Education Institutions and Scotland-based academic mentors, and external organizations.
The British Council Scotland SGSAH EARTH Scholarships 2025 provide full financial support, including travel, accommodation, and living expenses to beneficiaries of the award.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to current PhD researchers in Arts & Humanities enrolled at a non-UK university.
- Open to Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in Arts & Humanities who graduated from a non-UK university.
- PhD researchers can apply at any stage but need a support letter from their supervisor.
- ECRs must be within 1 year of receiving their PhD award notification (not graduation).
- ECR eligibility can extend to 2 years under special circumstances like caregiving or illness.
- Applicants must be studying or have completed a PhD in Arts & Humanities.
- Interdisciplinary PhDs must have at least 50% of the project in Arts & Humanities.
- The Programme is open to all eligible PhDs/ECRsregistered for or with completed PhDsfrom outside the UK but will particularly welcome applications from countries in the Global South and aligning with the Scottish Government’s International Development Fund and its priority countries including Rwanda, Zambia, Pakistan, Malawi, and India).
