Eligibility Criteria:
- The Fellowship is open to all non-Japanese nationals.
- Candidates with a Ph.D. are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must not be older than 49 years of age.
- The candidate must have an invitation letter from the Japanese host institution.
- The candidate must have a good command of English or Japanese.
- The candidate should not have previous experience of living or working in Japan.
- A fellow should be employed in their home country upon completion of the fellowship and commit to returning to their home country and playing a role in the development of their country.
