JAMB to Release Results of Make-Up UTME Today

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is set to release the results of the rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) today, Wednesday. This follows a weekend-long make-up exam held from Friday through Monday for candidates affected by technical and administrative issues during the initial UTME.

More than 1.9 million students took part in the original UTME, but the outcome left many disappointed and confused — with over 1.5 million candidates scoring below 200 out of 400. The poor performance sparked widespread concern and led to nationwide calls for transparency and accountability.

Complaints flooded in from students, parents, and education stakeholders, prompting JAMB to investigate. According to findings, the challenges stemmed from a combination of human errors and technical glitches, particularly affecting exam centres in Lagos and several Southeastern states.

In a rare and emotional moment last week, JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, publicly apologised for the issues. Fighting back tears, he expressed deep regret and reassured Nigerians that the affected students would not be left behind — hence the resit.

JAMB has scheduled a press conference this morning to officially announce the outcome of the make-up exams. If you participated in the rescheduled UTME, be sure to:

  • Visit the official JAMB portal regularly today
  • Stay updated through trusted news sources
  • Prepare to check your result as soon as it’s published

While this exam cycle has come with its fair share of challenges, JAMB’s commitment to rectifying its mistakes gives students another opportunity to reach their academic goals. We hope the new results bring clarity and confidence to candidates moving forward.
