Education Profile of Iyinoluwa Aboyeji
Iyinoluwa Aboyeji is one of Africa’s most driven and visionary entrepreneurs — a passionate believer in purpose-led prosperity and a bold builder of the continent’s future.
Born in Lagos and educated at Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja, he later earned a degree in Legal and International Studies from the University of Waterloo, Canada. But instead of staying abroad, he returned to build for Africa.

At just 23, he co-founded Andela, a global talent accelerator that trained thousands of African software engineers and connected them with global tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft — earning backing from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
Soon after, in 2016, he co-founded Flutterwave, a payment infrastructure platform now powering over 1 million businesses in 30+ African countries, including major players like Uber, Flywire, and PiggyVest. Valued at $3 billion, Flutterwave has become one of Africa’s biggest unicorns.
But Iyin’s biggest bet wasn’t on companies — it was on people.
Through Future Africa, a venture platform he leads as CEO and General Partner, he has invested in over 100 startups across fintech, healthtech, agritech, and edtech — together valued at over $6 billion. Some of these game-changing ventures include Moove (car financing for Uber drivers), Itana (Africa’s digital charter city), Releaf, Tushop, and Tambua Health.
Beyond business, Iyin’s impact spans public policy and urban innovation. He served as Deputy Director-General of Oby Ezekwesili’s 2019 presidential campaign and currently chairs Talent City, a visionary smart city for innovators. In 2024, he was appointed to Nigeria’s 3MTT Advisory Committee, supporting the national drive to scale digital skills.
In recognition of his contributions, he received the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2022, and has been named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
But for Iyin, true honour lies not in accolades — but in building ecosystems, communities, and platforms that power Africa’s transformation.
He’s not waiting for the future.
He’s building it — one founder, one bold idea, one bet at a time.
