Caleb University Appoints Prof. Olalekan Asikhia 

Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, in a clear demonstration of its steadfast dedication to academic excellence and institutional growth, has appointed the distinguished and internationally renowned scholar, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, as its new Vice-Chancellor. He succeeds Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie, who has completed two full terms in office. Prof. Asikhia, a globally respected professor of Business Administration, is a distinguished academic, researcher, institutional leader, management consultant, and entrepreneur with a remarkable career spanning over 30 years. He brings to this leadership position a stellar record of scholarly achievement, visionary guidance, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of academia.

Known as a global strategist with an encyclopedic intellect and exceptional administrative skills, Prof. Asikhia’s appointment marks the beginning of a new era of intellectual excellence and progressive governance at this esteemed Lagos-based institution.

Prof. Asikhia’s transformative leadership journey at Caleb University began in 2021, when he was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, Strategy, and Administration). Under his stewardship, the university has witnessed significant milestones, including the successful design and execution of the 2022–2026 Strategic Plan, which achieved a 71.2% success rate by 2024. His efforts also propelled Caleb University’s national ranking from 66th to 18th and boosted its institutional visibility by 57%.

A prolific grant-winning researcher and a natural leader, Prof. Asikhia has twice secured the SME and Poverty Alleviation grant from the University of South Africa (in 2014 and 2015), totaling $100,000. His impactful work has influenced policies on both national and international levels, underscoring his stature as a visionary academic and leader.
