The Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa is a three-month hybrid program designed for Seed to Series A technology startups, bringing Google’s resources, technology, and expertise to South African communities. The program will run from September to December 2025, combining both in-person and virtual learning experiences.

Throughout the accelerator, selected founders will define their key technical challenges and receive tailored mentorship from Google experts, with a strong focus on data and machine learning. Startups will benefit from digital workshops, structured programming, and networking opportunities, as well as access to Google’s teams and global network to support their growth and innovation.

Criteria:

• Startups that have already gained traction, ideally positioned between Seed and Series A stage.
• Must be developing a scalable product or service with a large total addressable market and a strong, defensible growth model.
• Should be highly technical, preferably incorporating technologies such as machine learning or artificial intelligence.
• Require active participation and commitment from the CTO and/or technical team members in all program sessions.
• Google seeks to build a diverse accelerator class and encourages applications from all qualified startups.

Details:

Global program structure: Each cohort of 10–15 startups collaborates to address technical challenges through a blend of remote and in-person sessions, including 1-to-1 mentoring, group learning, and sprint projects.

Expert guidance: Founders identify their biggest technical challenges and are matched with Google and industry experts to find solutions and drive business growth.

Specialist workshops: The program features deep dives and sessions on product design, customer acquisition, and leadership development for startup founders.

Google for Startups Cloud benefits: Eligible startups gain access to up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits, expert support, technical training, and opportunities to participate in key industry events.
