PTDF Postgraduate Scholarships to Study Abroad 2026 (Fully Funded)
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), a Federal Government agency mandated to build indigenous human capacity and advance petroleum technology in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, invites applications for the 2026 Overseas MSc and PhD Scholarship Scheme to selected universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Malaysia.
The scheme provides eligible candidates with the opportunity to pursue approved postgraduate programmes at designated partner institutions abroad, offering access to world-class education, advanced research facilities, and global expertise.
Key Information for Applicants
1. Strategic Partnerships
For the 2026 award cycle, applications will be limited strictly to PTDF-approved partner universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Malaysia. This restriction ensures the maintenance of high scholarship standards and the effective achievement of the Scheme’s strategic objectives.
2. Approved Courses
The complete list of sponsored courses, along with application forms, is available on the PTDF scholarship portal.
3. UK PhD Programmes to Run as Split-Site at CPESK
In line with its commitment to strengthening local capacity and domesticating critical components of its human capital development initiatives, PTDF has established the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Kaduna (CPESK).
CPESK is being developed as a centre of excellence for postgraduate education, cutting-edge research, and strong industry–academia collaboration.
Consequently, for the 2026 academic session, PhD scholarships in the United Kingdom will be offered exclusively under a split-site arrangement. Successful candidates will conduct their research by alternating residency between CPESK and the following UK partner universities:
