Flour Mills of Nigeria Prize for Innovation for Students and MSMEs 2026

The FMN Prize for Innovation 5.0 is now open to registered Nigerian SMEs operating within the food and agro-allied sector. Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a leading food and agro-allied group in Africa, has introduced the FMN Prize for Innovation to stimulate fresh ideas in food production, technological advancement, and engineering; particularly solutions that can enhance and sustain Nigeria’s food systems.

This year’s edition focuses on forward-thinking approaches to cassava production and processing, highlighting solutions capable of improving efficiency, expanding impact, and reinforcing national food security.

Benefits of the Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc (FMN) Prize for Innovation for Students and MSMEs 2026

In Category 1, shortlisted participants will be invited to present their ideas before a panel of live judges. Winners will receive cash prizes of ₦5,000,000 for first place, ₦3,000,000 for the first runner-up, and ₦2,000,000 for the second runner-up.

In Category 2, prizes include ₦700,000 for first place, ₦500,000 for second place, and ₦300,000 for third place.

Requirements

The fifth edition of FMN’s Prize for Innovation (FMN PFI 5.0) centers on the theme: Innovative Practices in Cassava Production and Processing.

The competition is divided into two distinct categories:

  • Category 1: Open to registered Nigerian MSMEs.
  • Category 2: Open to Nigerian undergraduate and postgraduate students.
