NextGen AMR Research Training and Mentorship 2026

Applications are now being accepted for the second cohort of the 4-Month Virtual AMR Research Training & Mentorship Series. This programme is tailored for STEM students who are prepared for intensive, research-focused capacity development.

The training is specifically designed for students working on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)–related research and aiming to strengthen their expertise in bioinformatics, data analysis using R, dissertation development, academic referencing and bibliography management, AMR research methodologies, and related competencies.

NextGen AMR Research Training & Mentorship – Benefits

Participants will receive intensive, hands-on training in:

  • Bioinformatics
  • Data analysis using R
  • Dissertation writing and structuring
  • Academic referencing and bibliography management
  • AMR interdisciplinary project development
  • Antimicrobial stewardship
  • One-on-one mentorship

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be penultimate- or final-year undergraduates committed to pursuing a dissertation focused on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)
  • Provide a recommendation letter from their supervisor or Head of Department
  • Commit to a minimum of 4 hours of learning per week
  • Participate in a 1-hour virtual AMR webinar organised bi-monthly by NASI
  • Be enrolled in a STEM-related discipline such as Pharmacy, Microbiology, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Public Health, Environmental Science, Biology, Medicine, or related fields.
