Niger Delta University(NDU) considers online lectures due to flood

The Vice-Chancellor of the Niger Delta University in Bayelsa State, Prof. Samuel Edoumiekumo, has said that the institution is considering endorsing the online teaching method due to the devastating effect of the flood in the state.

Prof. Edoumiekumo complained about the university been unable to resume school activities after the suspension of the 8-month industrial action due to the flooding crisis as people are only able to move around through the use of canoes.

Furthermore, he explained that all three main campuses of the institution; Gloryland Campus, College of Health Sciences both located on Wilberforce Island, Amasoma, and the Faculty of Law campus in Yenagoa, were inaccessible by road, and they are unable to power the school because it will cause electrocution.

Prof. Edoumiekumo mentioned that some students will be given access to classes through the university’s online portal.
