ABUAD takes 400 position in the Global University Rankings.
The Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) has ranked 400th in the recently released global university rankings and number one in Nigeria, with Nigerian public universities finishing far lower in the rankings.
President Muhammadu Buhari who congratulated the school on her new attainment came under fire by Nigerian students who criticized him heavily due to the incessant ASUU strike which resulted to public Universities been closed for more than 4months.
Reacting to his message, A Nigerian student by name Zakariyahu Abdullahi said “This president cannot cease to amaze me. So no public institutions was ranked among the top 400 in the world, and this man still has to congratulate the private university that was ranked. Is he trying to promote private institutions over public institutions? No wonder ASUU has been on strike for quite sometimes now!”
Israel Ogoluwa said “Someone should tell bubu that Abuad is not owned by Federal government o before he starts his mumu hailing.”
Usman Lawal Abdullahi noted “See this Madness! Is this some thing commendable or abusive since you left poor children to be at home.”
