ASUP Elongate Strike by 4weeks.
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) recently extended its ultimatum to the FG by 4weeks, after which it said it might be forced to take industrial action.
The polytechnic lecturers had initially given the FG three months to address its grievances which elapsed recently before the recent extension.
Reacting to this, Nigerian students noted that the lecturers were just scared of the “no work,no pay policy” which the federal government invokes on striking unions.
Some were also of the opinion that if the union were actually serious about going on strike, they wouldn’t have brought in the recent extension as three months should have been enough for the FG to notice them and take action.
