ASUU Strike extended by 2 months.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has extended its warning strike for another two months as the Federal Government has failed to satisfactorily address all the issues raised in the 2020 FGN/ASUU Memorandum of Action within the one month warning strike.
The decision to extend the strike was taken yesterday after the union’s National Executive Council, NEC meeting that was held in Abuja yesterday.
The President of the union, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, made this known in a press release today Monday 14th March 2022.
According to Prof. Osodeke, the decision to extend the strike by 2months was with the sole aim of giving the Federal government enough time to sort out the pending issues concerning the 2019 Agreement “in concrete terms” so that students can go back to school and resume studying.
