Caleb Varsity Awards 3 Best Graduating Students with N5million Each.
Caleb University, Imota in Lagos have rewarded three of their best graduating students with a sum of N5,000,000 cheque each for been diligent in their school work.
The Chairman/CEO of Atlantic International Refinery and Petrochemical Ltd, an indigenous Oil company, Dr. Akintoye Akindele made the pledge during the 11th convocation ceremony of the university when he presented a cheque of N5m to each of the best male, female, and best Post Graduate student.
The students who won the scholarship are: Iredia Ejehi a Computer Science Student, emerged as Caleb University overall best female graduating student with a CGPA of 4.92; Ifezue Humphrey also a Computer Science Student emerged as the overall best male graduating student with a CGPA 4.84 while Mrs. Olufunso Fasuyi emerged the best graduating Post-Graduate Student.
Dr. Akindele also offered automatic employment to the trio while he handed over a cheque to cover the school fees of 22 newly matriculated students. He also disclosed his plan to build an Information Technology Centre, as well as an African History and Archaeology Centre at the Imota Main Campus of the University.
While delivering his lecture titled “The Rhetoric and Reality of Youth as Game Changers”, he urged Nigerian students to imitate the best graduating students.
According to the University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nosa Owens Ibie, who was at the presentation of cheques alongside the university registrar, Mr. Mayokun Olumeru and family members of the recipients; praised the virtues of the donor, describing him as a man of his words.
Dr. Akindele is well known for his simplicity, humility and blessed with a broad vision, abundant patience, and a good sense of humor.
