Call For Applications: FCMB Agritech Hackathon and Venture Building Program 2024 ( Up to N23 Million, 6-week Venture Building Opportunity and Award)

We are most fulfilled when your idea thrives as we are on a mission to empower Africa’s Agri-innovators. This year’s Hackathon and Venture Building Program offers grants, mentorship, and access to market through corporate partnerships.

The FCMB Agritech Hackathon and venture building program is an initiative to foster and accelerate the growth of the agricultural sector through support to agritech companies in solving industry challenges. The program consists of a hackathon, where participants will be supported to develop their ideas/solutions, and a venture-building program, where selected teams will receive funding, mentorship and support to build and scale their solutions. The program is supported by FMO and implemented by Heave Ventures

The 2024 AgriTech Hackathon and Venture Building Program supported by FMO is designed to search out, identify, and groom early-stage businesses across Africa.

The project will run for 6 months across two major phases:

1. 1. Hackathon
2. 2. Venture Building

The format of this 6-month program involves a 3-month Hackathon and prize-giving day, 6 weeks of venture-building sprints, and an Investor Day program with a Documentary premiere. These are designed to provide high-impact innovative AgriTech startups with the relevant business and product development tools required to groom their solutions to Agricultural challenges in society and attract follow-on investments.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the FCMB Hackathon and Venture Building Program 2024, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Stage of Idea:Your business idea should be in the early stages of development.
2. Team:You should have a team with a mix of skills and experience relevant to building an Agritech business. This could include experience in agriculture, technology, business development, and marketing.
3. Passion for Agriculture:You should have a strong passion for agriculture and a desire to make a positive impact in the industry.
4. Commitment:You should be committed to participating fully in the program and working hard to develop your venture.
5. Legal:Be a legally registered company either as a business name or limited, individual teams of hackers are also encouraged to apply to the hackathon.

The top three teams will be awarded an exciting array of prizes! These rewards are designed to not only acknowledge your achievements but also to provide substantial support for the further development of your projects.

The prizes include:

• Monetary Prize: Each winning team will receive a significant financial reward, offering a substantial boost to advance their innovative health solutions. The total prize value is 23,000,000 Naira.
• Venture Building Opportunity: Winners will have the chance to engage in a 6-week Venture Building program. This unique program will leverage best-in-class product development methodology and business advisory to ship fast and sell faster.
• Trophy: In recognition of their exceptional talent, each winning team will be honored with a commemorative plaque, symbolizing their achievement and excellence in the Agri-Sector.
