Call For Applications: YOCILAB Young Graduate Fellowship 2024
The Young Graduate Fellowship is a comprehensive program designed to empower young graduates aged 18 to 29 in Cameroon. Recognizing the challenges faced by young graduates in accessing opportunities and transitioning into the workforce, this fellowship aims to equip them with essential skills in entrepreneurship, mental health, and employment readiness. By providing training, mentorship, and networking opportunities, the fellowship seeks to enhance their employability, promote mental well-being, and foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Details
- Training Modules: The fellowship will consist of three training modules: Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship, Mental Health, and Employment Readiness. Each module will span eight weeks and include a mix of lectures, group discussions, case studies, and hands-on exercises.
- Mentorship: Participants will be paired with experienced mentors who will provide guidance, support, and industry insights throughout the fellowship. Mentors will help participants refine their business ideas, provide career advice, and offer support in mental health and well-being.
- Networking Opportunities: A career fair will be organized as part of the Employment Readiness module, allowing participants to connect with potential employers, explore job opportunities, and expand their professional networks. Additionally, networking events and workshops will be organized to facilitate collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants, mentors, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals.
- Pitching Session: At the end of the fellowship, participants will have the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to a panel of potential investors and receive feedback on their projects. This session aims to provide practical exposure and potential funding opportunities for participants’ entrepreneurial ventures.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to young graduates aged 18 to 29 who have completed a tertiary education program within the past 2 years.
- Participants must be Cameroonian citizens in Cameroon or the Diaspora.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in improving their livelihood and solving local community challenges.
