Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship Program for Young Nigerians 2025

A leadership and mentorship fellowship open to young Nigerians aged 21–35, designed to empower emerging leaders to drive inclusive growth and prosperity, strengthen accountable and credible governance, and promote peace and security across Nigeria.

Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship Program for Young Nigerians – Benefits

The fellowship selects 7 young Nigerian leaders for an intensive leadership program designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge to drive impact in their sectors and communities. Key components of the Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship include:

• Six-Week Leadership Development Experience: Fellows engage in an immersive six-week program focused on one of three themes: Leadership in Business, Leadership in Social Development, or Leadership in Governance. The program integrates academic sessions, a strengths-based Common Leadership Curriculum, and cultural activities to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Fellows gain tools and insights that prepare them to lead effectively in their sectors and communities.
• Annual Colloquium in Abuja, Nigeria: All Fellows attend the Dr. Fola Aina Annual Colloquium on Youth, Leadership, and Nation-Building in December. The high-level event offers opportunities to participate in dynamic sessions, deliver talks, and engage with Nigerian leaders from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, fostering valuable connections and insights.
• Volunteering Activities: Fellows undertake hands-on volunteering projects with Program Partners, allowing them to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the Leadership Development Experience in real-world settings.
• Networking Opportunities: Fellows connect with peers from across Nigeria and join a growing alumni network of young leaders who are actively contributing to transformation across diverse sectors in the country. This fellowship is designed to empower the next generation of Nigerian leaders to create meaningful and lasting impact.

Eligibility Criteria for the Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship Program for Young Nigerians

• Must be a Nigerian citizen.
• Must have lived in Nigeria for at least six months prior to the application.
• Must be between 21 and 35 years old at the time of application; exceptional candidates aged 18–21 may also be considered.
• Open to both male and female applicants.
• Must be able and willing to dedicate at least 3 hours per week to fellowship activities, including webinars, case studies, team projects, and assignments.
• Must not be an employee or an immediate family member of an employee of the Triola Aina Foundation.
• Must be proficient in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Must not be a previous participant of the Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship.
