EXAM MALPRACTICE: JUPEB suspends DELSU for five years
The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board has suspended Delta State University, Abraka, over the widespread of Examination malpractice in the school, hence cancels the 2021 preliminary exams held in the school yearly.
This announcement was made known in a message which was contained in a letter addressed to the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Egwunyenga.
Part of the letter reads, “Following the report received from the investigative panel regarding the conduct of the 2021 JUPEB examinations, the academic board and the JUPEB governing board came to an agreement that the indicted universities be suspended as an affiliate member of JUPEB for five years, and the results of the examinations conducted in these universities be cancelled due to widespread malpractices”.
It further read that, “Delta State University is one of the cited universities known for malpractice, hence, the Vice Chancellor is hereby notified of the approval of JUPEB governing board to cancel the JUPEB Exams and suspend the institution.”
“The governing board of JUPEB is also expressed so much displeasure over the turn out of events, which was due to poor conduct of examinations in the University.
“The governing board of JUPEB during an emergency meeting therefore directed that all students currently registered for 2021/2022 session of the programme in Delta state University, be moved to the nearest affiliate university to write the 2022 JUPEB examinations”.
