Former JAMB Registrar Dies At 74.
The Late Former JAMB Registrar Dr. Saleh Abubakar is dead. According to Alhaji Hassan Mijinyawa, the Special Adviser to Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State on Press Affairs, who is also a family member of the deceased, Dr. Saleh Abubakar died at the age of 74 after a prolonged illness at a hospital in Kaduna state.
Dr. Abubakar was an indigene of Jalingo, the capital of Taraba.
The Ex-Registrar, graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in the year 1973 from the department of history. He was also a member of the Nigerian National Constitutional Conference under Major General Sani Abacha’s regime from 1994 to 1995.
Before joining JAMB in 1996, Dr. Abubakar was a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, for 19 years and was also the Chief Executive Officer of the College of Preliminary Studies in Yola in the former Gongola State.
He equally headed the College of Education in Jalingo.
Dr. Abubakar’s remains had been buried in Kaduna according to Islamic rites.
he was survived by one wife, 12 children, and 11 grandchildren.
