Former NANS President Wins Senatorial Ticket.
The former president of the National Association of Nigerian students (NANS), Comr. Dan Onjeh recently emerged APC senatorial candidate for Benue South senatorial district.
Comr. Daniel Onjeh was once elected NANS President in 2002 and subsequently West African students Union (WASU) President in 2006.
He contested for the Senatorial ticket in 2015 but lost out to Senator David Mark .
Reacting to the news, few students took to social media expressing their thoughts, Merryboy Ayobami said “From SUG president to NANS president to Senator of the Federal republic of Nigeria.. Aluta continua.”
Arc. Bishop simply said “Victoria no dey ascerta once them become politicians.”
Chidera Robert said “NANS executives are already looting. So he wants to get to a higher level where he would amass with conduit, huge amount of money.”
While some students doubted if he would still have the interest of Nigerian students at heart if he emerge office as they believed being a politician is entirely different from being a leader of a student body. Others however congratulated him and hoped he was going to still fight for students rights if he ends up in office.
