Eligibility and Program Format

Our fellowships are open to early-stage, for-profit, impact-driven founders  Halcyon defines “early-stage” as proof of concept to approximately $500,000 USD in annual recurring revenue. We are sector agnostic, and founders working in all sectors are eligible to apply.

Halcyon’s Residential Fellowship is open to founders from around the world! You must be able to live at Halcyon, in Washington, DC and work on your venture full time during the 14 week fellowship program and residency: February 20th, 2023 – May, 26th 2023.

Our Intensive Fellowships are structured with a combination of monthly meetings and week-long in-person residencies

• Halcyon Opportunity Intensive Fellowship is open to founders in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Programming is delivered in person through:
  • Two week-long residencies at Halcyon
  • Five one-day monthly meetings
• Halcyon MENA Intensive Fellowship is open to founders in the Middle East & North Africa Region. Programming is delivered in hybrid modality through:
  • Two virtual meetings
  • One week-long in-person residency in the Middle East/North Africa Region 
• Halcyon Future Builders Intensive Fellowship This hybrid in-person and virtual fellowship will bring together women and nonbinary entrepreneurs based in the United States who identify as Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, and Afro-Latina. Each fellow will be the founder of a for-profit venture solving 21st-century challenges. Programming is delivered in hybrid modality through:
  • Three virtual meetings
  • One week-long in-person residency at Halcyon

Application Tips

Halcyon’s application is an opportunity for the selection committee to learn more about you, your venture, and your vision for impact. The committee reviews each application using Halcyon’s six criteria: impact, problem/solution, sustainability, execution, innovation, and talent. Halcyon uses one application for the four fellowships we are currently recruiting for. On your application, you may request to be considered for more than one fellowship. However, to support as many founders as possible, founders may only complete ONE fellowship. If you would like to be considered for multiple fellowships, you will designate the fellowship you are MOST interested in, and your application will be reviewed for that fellowship first.

Halcyon was founded with the mission to support the brightest and most committed impact-driven founders, regardless of background and previous access to resources.

You are not required to upload additional content, but this is a wonderful way to bring your application to life and can include, but is not limited to: pitch decks, short informal video or audio recordings and other creative ways that you would like to tell your story.
