History of Ekiti State Polytechnic

The Polytechnic was established in the year 2014 as College of Technical and Commercial Agriculture at Isan-Ekiti by Dr John Kayode Fayemi led Government of Ekiti-State with focus on middle-level manpower development in the Agricultural sector, but this was truncated by the subsequent Administration.

Dr. John Kayode Fayemi was however re-elected as the Governor of Ekiti State in 2018, and on assumption of office, the Governor reiterated his commitment to the vision behind the establishment of the College and the development of agriculture which is one of the four-point agenda of his administration. This led to the college re-enactment in 2019 under the provision of the Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti (Re-enactment) Law, No.6 of 2019.

The College officially kicked-off in September 2019 as a Polytechnic with the appointment of the pioneer Rector, Professor Johnson Kayode Adesodun and the pioneer Registrar, Mr Joseph Akin Olugbenga Olorunsola.

The College presently runs National Diploma (ND) Programmes in six academic departments. Effort are on to add more programmes and certificate courses.
