History of Federal Co-operative College, Ibadan
Established in 1943 as the Co-operative Staff Training School, the Federal Co-operative College, Ibadan (FCC Ibadan) is one of Nigeria’s oldest institutions dedicated to cooperative education. It was upgraded to full college status in 1957, and by 1963, it relocated to its permanent site in Eleyele, Ibadan—close to other notable institutions like UI and Poly Ibadan.
The college came under Federal Government control in 1976, expanding its programs to include ND, HND, and professional diplomas in Cooperative Economics, Business Administration, Accountancy, and more. Today, FCC Ibadan is known for its strike-free calendar, NYSC eligibility, and practical training approach that prepares students for leadership and entrepreneurship.
