History of Kebbi State Polytechnic Dakingari
The institution was established pursuant to an Act of the Kebbi State House of Assembly Law No. 08 of 2013 assented to by the Executive Governor on 8th March, 2013. The Polytechnic was provided with a site at Dakingari in June 2013 which is 94 Km from Birnin Kebbi the State capital and 50 Km from Bunza. The town is located on longitude and latitude.
Nassarawa Campus Annex
The new Government Girls Science College was allocated to the Polytechnic and serves as an annex to its main campus. The site had an administrative block with 16 rooms, eight laboratories, nine classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, one four bedroom residence, six three bedroom semi-detached bungalows and seven two bedroom semi-detached houses, two blocks of 10 single bedrooms, three blocks of students hostels, library, IT centre, mosque, two bore holes and a generator house. The site is secured by a wall fence and two gates and currently accommodates four Schools.
Nassarawa Main Campus
The Nassarawa Campus covers a land area of 400 hectares and serves as the main campus of the Polytechnic and is about two kilometers away from the Nassarawa Campus Annex. The first phase of its development started in August, 2013 with the award of contract for the construction of administrative building complex; four blocks of 3-storey academic buildings; two blocks of 2-storey academic buildings; workshop complex; eight blocks of students hostels (5 for Male and 3 for Female); 2-storey library building complex; twin lecture theatres; mosque building; Rectors’ residence and boys quarters; five blocks of 4-bedroom principal officers’ residence and boys quarters; three blocks of 1-storey 3-bedroom semi-detached senior staff residence and boys quarters; five blocks of 1-storey 2-bedroom semi-detached junior staff quarters; medical centre; entrepreneurship development centre and external works (gate, fencing, access roads and drainage). The institution pride itself with a responsive leadership, serene environment suited for learning and scholarship supported by well-motivated staff.
