IEWD Essay Competition for Students, 2025
The International E-Waste Day (IEWD) 2025 offers a unique platform for young, visionary Nigerians to share their ideas on building a greener and more sustainable future. To mark this global event, the E-Waste Producer Responsibility Organisation of Nigeria (EPRON), in partnership with other organizations, is calling for submissions to the IEWD 2025 Essay Competition.
The competition is open to secondary school students nationwide, covering both Junior Secondary (JSS1–3) and Senior Secondary (SSS1–3) levels. It aims to inspire young Nigerians to think critically, showcase creativity, and deepen their understanding of e-waste management and environmental sustainability.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit an original essay that demonstrates their personal perspective and understanding. Each entry should adhere to the following guidelines:
- Essays must be written in English.
- Each student is permitted to submit only one entry.
- The essay should have a maximum length of 750 words.
This competition provides a valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate their writing abilities while engaging in a vital global dialogue on responsible e-waste management.
Awards and Rewards
- 1st Prize: Cash award plus a school development grant
- 2nd Prize: Brand-new tablet devices
- 3rd Prize: A collection of books and other educational resources
These awards are intended to inspire students while also providing meaningful support for their educational growth.
