Kponee-Shovein Foundation Scholarship Award 2025
Applications are now open for the Kponee-Shovein Foundation Scholarship Award 2025.
This scholarship is available to students who are completing their first degree at universities in Nigeria. Each year, the foundation provides full one-year tuition coverage along with a stipend to support studies at Nigerian universities. The Kponee-Shovein Scholars Award is exclusively available to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
What the Kponee-Shovein Scholarship Offers

This support is designed to ease the financial burden of higher education and allow scholars to focus fully on their studies.
Eligibility Criteria for the Kponee-Shovein Foundation Scholarship
Applicants must be indigenes of Rivers State and currently enrolled in a recognized and accredited university anywhere in Nigeria, demonstrating active pursuit of their undergraduate studies.
Process for Choosing Recipients
Top applicants in each cycle will be designated as “finalists” and invited to an interview with the foundation’s founders. Scholarship recipients, chosen from these finalists, will be notified by the end of the year and are required to attend an in-person interview in Port Harcourt with the Chief Operating Officer to access tuition support and the stipend. Additionally, all scholars must have their school ID card, local government identification letter, and tuition statement verified by the Chief Operating Officer to qualify for funding. Tuition support and the stipend will commence at the start of the academic year.

Applicants are required to provide their school ID card along with a valid local government identification letter.
Application Process
To apply for the Kponee-Shovein Scholarship, please complete the Kponee-Shovein Scholars Application Form and submit it along with the required supporting documents to kponeeshoveinfoundation@gmail.com:
- Essay 1 (Maximum 1,000 words): Explain your motivations for pursuing your chosen field of study, your reasons for applying for the scholarship, and your career plans after graduation.
- Essay 2 (Maximum 1,000 words): Share your experiences as a Rivers State indigene and discuss how these experiences have shaped your personal and academic journey.
- Official Scanned Transcripts: Submit JAMB scores if you are a first-year student, or university transcripts if you are a continuing undergraduate, from your current institution.
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae
- Two Professional Letters of Recommendation: Letters must be from lecturers, professors, or heads of departments and sent directly by the recommenders to kponeeshoveinfoundation@gmail.com.
