NUC Approves African University of Science and Technology (AUST) Undergraduate Programmes
The African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, Nigeria has been given approval by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to run undergraduate programs with effect from 2021/2022 academic session.
In a letter to the Acting President of AUST, dated Tuesday, March 15, 2022, with reference number NUC/ AP/P34/Vol.11/58 and signed Dr. N.B. Saliu, NUC Director of Academic Planning for the Executive Secretary of NUC, Professor Abubakar Rasheed, MNI, MFR, the Commission approved eight new undergraduate programs for the university, following a resource verification exercise conducted by the Commission in January 2022.
The approved programs are as follows:
- Accounting (B.Sc.)
- Business Administration (B.Sc.)
- Computer Science (B.Sc.)
- Software Engineering (B.Sc.)
- Materials & Metallurgical Engineering (B. Eng.)
- Civil Engineering (B.Eng.)
- Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.) and
- Petroleum & Energy Resources Engineering (B. Eng.)
The excited Acting President of AUST, Professor Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, appreciated the NUC Executive Secretary for the approval given to the university’s request to run undergraduate programs. Prof. Azikiwe also promised AUST would continue to maintain high academic standards and follow the guidelines contained in the approval letter.
