One Young World Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2026

We are seeking sixteen emerging young leaders dedicated to tackling the pressing and interconnected challenges impacting women and girls today.

This opportunity is delivered by One Young World in partnership with the Hauwa Ojeifo Global Impact Fund for Women & Girls. Founded by renowned mental health advocate and One Young World Ambassador Hauwa Ojeifo, the Impact Fund is committed to strengthening care systems and advancing the health and wellbeing of 100 million women and girls by 2030.

One Young World Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship – Benefits

Recipients of the Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship will receive:

  • The opportunity to attend the One Young World Summit 2026, taking place in Cape Town from 3–6 November.
  • Lifelong membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community.
  • Access to the One Young World Global Leadership Programme and Action Accelerator.
  • Eligibility to apply for grant funding of up to $25,000 USD.
  • Hotel accommodation throughout the duration of the Summit.
  • Round-trip economy airfare from their country of residence to Cape Town.
  • Full catering, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the Summit.
  • Transportation between the designated accommodation and the Summit venue.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be aged 18–30 at the time of the One Young World Summit 2026.
  • Be serving in a leadership capacity, working within an organisation, or leading an independent initiative with demonstrated impact in at least one of the following areas:
    • Mental health, including neurodivergence and developmental differences
    • Domestic and sexual violence
    • Disability rights and the rights of older persons
    • Gynaecological health and sexual and reproductive health and rights
    • Maternal and child health
    • Girl-child issues (including FGM, child and adolescent pregnancy, and child marriage)
    • Non-communicable diseases
  • Be based in and actively making an impact in Africa, Asia, or the Middle East.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and engage with fellow scholarship recipients.

Applications cannot be accepted from individuals who will be under 18 at the time of the Summit. While the preferred age range is 18–30, candidates above 30 may be considered if they can demonstrate significant personal impact, initiative, and a strong commitment to engagement.

Selection Process

Applications must be submitted via the designated application portal.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to provide additional documentation, including references, as part of the selection process.
