RSU Suspend Professor Over Sexual Harassment.
Nigerians have reacted after the management of Rivers State University(RSU) suspended Prof. David Ogbonna, a lecturer in the department of Microbiology over allegations of sexually harrassing a Female student of the institution.
According to news reports his suspension follows a preliminary report from the Academic Ethics Enforcement Committee of the institution looking into the alleged case of sexual harassment.
The report was forwarded thereafter to the Governing Council and the matter has been referred to the Joint Council and Senate Disciplinary Committee on staff matters for detailed investigation and recommendation to the Council.
Reacting to this, Engr. Ogu chiwuike, a student of FUTO said “There should capital punishment for some of these abuses, Perhaps, this man has a wife at home and is not satisfied with the wife due to foolishness and lack of self-control. Just imagine the level of ridicule he has brought upon his family and generation.”
Godspower Uzoma, a graduate of RSU said “The law should take it’s cause if found culpable to the allegation. It’s becoming a trend in RSU. There’s one lecturer that has been known by this evil act. His evil deed will soon be exposed.”
