- The candidate should not have exceeded 48 months of doctoral studies on campus, emphasizing support for scholars in the early stages of their academic journey.

- Consideration for applicants in their 6th year (48 to 60 months of doctoral study) will be granted only in highly exceptional circumstances, as determined by the selection committee.

- Download the Fellowship Form: Once on the application portal, candidates will be prompted to download the fellowship form. Fill out this form with accurate and complete information.
- Complete the Canadian Common CV (CCV): As part of the application process, candidates must complete the CCV from the Canadian Common CV website using the Vanier-Banting Academic CV template. Ensure all relevant academic and research information is included.
