University of Sheffield International Postgraduate Merit Scholarships 2025
The University of Sheffield in the UK is offering international postgraduate merit scholarships to international students seeking to study Master’s degree in the institution.
The University of Sheffield International Postgraduate Merit Scholarship offers awards worth £10,000 each toward tuition fees for students beginning their postgraduate taught studies in September 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be classified as an international fee-paying student.
- Hold an offer for a full-time postgraduate taught program at Sheffield by the scholarship application deadline.
- Self-fund your studies (students funded by external sponsors are not eligible).
- Not combine the award with other major Sheffield scholarships like the International Postgraduate Taught Scholarship 2025 or the GREAT Scholarship 2025.
- Have a strong academic record and evidence of outstanding achievements beyond the classroom (educational, voluntary, or professional).
Benefits:
- The Scholarship period will run between September 2020 and September 2021 for the September set and;
- January 2021 to January 2022 for the January set.
- The scholarship will provide a full tuition fee waiver for the year, plus a stipend of £8,000 which will be paid over 12 months.
- Applicants who can evidence their refugee status will be considered a priority group, however the University may extend the invite to apply to further applicants.
Eligible Programs
This scholarship applies to full-time postgraduate taught courses (Masters programs) commencing in autumn 2025 at the University of Sheffield.
However, certain programs are ineligible, such as:
- Distance learning programs
- Dual programs with partner institutions
- Erasmus Mundus and Crossways courses
- Higher clinical fee programs (e.g., Orthodontics, Endodontics)
Important: MArch (Master of Architecture) programs are treated as postgraduate taught and thus eligible, but undergraduate scholarships are not applicable.
