Eligibility Criteria:

- Must have a first-class average in the last two years of studies.
- Joint degree candidates (MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, JD/PhD) are eligible for PhD funding only.
- The research proposal must include a significant research component.
- Cannot be faculty at a university with a Vanier quota or other institutions unless on granted leave for the PhD.
- Must be enrolled full-time; or part-time, possibly for disability or family support, with adjusted study duration.
- Canadian federal government employees can apply for unpaid leave.

Program Deadline: The deadline for the nominating institutions to submit their nominations to the Vanier CGS program is October 30, 2024. Institutions must ensure all applications are submitted by this date.
