World Bank Yokohama National University Scholarship 2025 | Fully Funded

The Joint/Japan World Bank Yokohama National University Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for international students.

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program covers all the expenses of tuition, accommodation, travel, and healthcare, including a monthly living stipend of JPY 200,000.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nationality: Be a national of a World Bank member country eligible for financing. Dual citizens of developed countries are ineligible.
  • Academic Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with superior academic performance earned at least three years before the scholarship application deadline.
  • Work Experience: Have at least three years of recent, full-time professional experience in development-related work after earning a Bachelor’s degree. Exceptions apply for applicants from countries on the World Bank’s “Harmonized List of Fragile Situations.”
  • Health: Be in good health.
  • Exclusions: Not be an Executive Director, staff, or a close relative of World Bank or IMF personnel.

  • Official Transcripts and Certificate of Graduation.
  • English Proficiency Test Scores (TOEFL/IELTS) or a certificate proving English-medium education.
  • Research Plan (up to six pages detailing objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes).
  • Two Letters of Recommendation, one from a supervisor and one from an academic.
  • Academic Performance Entry Sheet (template provided by YNU).
