NUC Accredits FULOKOJA Existing Programmes.

The National Universities Commission (NUC), which has released the all-awaited results of its Re-Accreditation Exercise conducted in Federal University Lokoja (FUL) in October/November, 2021.

In a letter communicated to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi signed by its Director of Accreditation, Dr. Maryam Sali on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Professor  Abubakar Rasheed, the NUC presented details of the technical reports and summary results of the existing academic programmes in the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Sciences visited.

The five (5) academic programmes that retained their FUL ACCREDITATION STATUS valid for a period of five (5) years as released by the National Universities Commission were:

FACULTY OF ARTS

1. English

2. History

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

1. Economics

2. Geography

3. Political Science

Recall that towards the end of last year (2021), the Vice-Chancellor and his Management Team received different Accreditation Panels from the NUC who visited the school for the Re-accreditation of the above mentioned programmes which were already due for the exercise since the first accreditation exercise that was conducted in 2015.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi on behalf of the academic and non-teaching staff in those departments expressed appreciation to the National Universities Commission, Members of the Accreditation Team, Staff and Students of this great University for their various roles, support and tireless efforts that led to this another extraordinary achievement.

Meanwhile, the existing academic programmes in the Faculty of Science will also be visited soon for the purpose of their Re-accreditation.
