Kebbi State Govt Suspends 2 Tertiary Institutions

The Kebbi State Government has shut down two private tertiary institutions namely; Lamido Umaru Mutube College of Advanced Studies and Health Sciences, Dakingari, and SAHAM College of Health Sciences and Technology, Zuru in the state over their failure to pay dues to the state’s coffers.

The state’s Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Abubakar Tunga, in a statement, said the two private institutions would remain shut until they pay up the areas of their two-year dues to the State Government.

The statement was signed by the Director of higher education, Aliyu Shehu Jega indicated that the institutions refused to pay their dues for two years despite several reminders and warnings sent to them by the ministry.

In his words, “We have nothing against them; we only suspended them because they refuse to pay the yearly dues to the government

“We will reopen them immediately they pay their dues to the government.”
