2025 CERN Internship Program in Switzerland
The CERN Internship Program is open to motivated students looking for an opportunity to work in a unique environment at the cutting edge of technology.
The 2025 CERN Internship offers a monthly stipend of 1,577 Swiss Francs, access to a world-class working environment in Switzerland, and several networking and professional opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a full-time student (Technical/Administrative diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
- Please note that candidates studying for a PhD are not eligible for this programme.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Your main field of study is in one of the following areas:
- applied physics, computing, mathematics, electricity, electronics, mechanical or civil engineering, instrumentation, materials science, radiation protection, safety and environmental protection, surveying,
- ultra-high vacuum, scientific communication. Or in administrative fields such as: translation, advanced secretarial work, accounting, legal services, human resources, librarianship, logistics.
- Be willing to remain a full-time registered student throughout the internship at CERN.
- Have good working proficiency in English and/ or French.
Benefits:
- A contract of association from 1 to 6 months.
- An allowance of 1577 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).
- A travel allowance.
- Depending on your personal circumstances, a supplement if you are married and/or have children.
- Coverage by CERN’s comprehensive Health Insurance scheme (the contribution will be automatically deducted from your allowance).
- 2,5 days of paid leave per month

- A copy of your most recent academic transcript giving an overview of your marks (if you download it from your university portal please make sure there is no protection so that we can open it).
- A reference letter from your University Professor is mandatory. Should you have one from a previous internship you may add this as a second reference.
