ASUU Strike: Help ASUU Improve UTAS says IT Expert
An information and Technology Expert by name Mr. Adeoye Aderogba, has advised the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, to help improve the Universities Transparency Accountability Solution, UTAS as it is even a part of NITDA’s mandate as a government owned information technology agency. Mr Aderogba made this suggestion during an interview in Lagos on Friday.
In his words:
“I want to categorically speak on the current statement by NITDA Director-General, Dr. Kashifu Inuwa, that UTAS, endorsed by ASUU, failed integrity test. If it failed an Integrity test, then the agency is in a better position to ensure that UTAS system works better.“
According to the IT Expert ASUU’s alternative software to the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System, IPPIS, should have been looked into by NITDA and the necessary should also be made by the agency to encourage indigenous software development.
