MECI Initiative Scholarship Fund for Medical Students 2026
Applications are now open for the 2026 MECI Scholarship! The scholarship is designed to provide financial support to eligible Medicine and Surgery students enrolled in the six participating medical schools, helping to ease the financial burden of medical education.
Through the MECI Scholarship, deserving medical students gain the support they need to stay focused on their studies and successfully complete their training. The initiative underscores MECI’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals by expanding access to quality medical education and reducing financial barriers.
Benefits of the MECI Scholarship Fund for Medical Students
The MECI Scholarship Fund will award ₦100,000 each to 12 outstanding Medicine and Surgery students across all academic levels in the following participating universities:
- University of Ilorin
- Obafemi Awolowo University
- Nnamdi Azikiwe University
- Usmanu Danfodiyo University
- University of Maiduguri
- University of Benin
The scholarship is intended to ease students’ financial burden and enable them to focus on achieving academic excellence throughout their medical education.
Eligibility Requirements for the MECI Scholarship Fund for Medical Students
To be considered for the MECI Scholarship Fund, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a registered Medicine and Surgery student at one of the six participating medical schools.
- Demonstrate genuine financial need.
- Be in good academic standing with satisfactory academic performance.
